Saraswati (Sanskrit: सरस्वती, Sarasvatī ) is the Hindu goddess of learning, music, symbolizations and nature. She is a piece of the trinity of Saraswati, Lakshmi and Parvati. All the three structures help the trinity of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva in the creation, upkeep and decimation of the Universe. The Goddess is additionally worshipped by adherents of the Jain religion of west and central India.
Maa Saraswati is also acknowledged in several other countries, some of these were part of ancient India. She is known in Burmese as Thurathadi, in Chinese as Biàncáitiān (辯才天), in Japanese as Benzaiten (弁才天/弁財天) and in Thai as Surasawadee.
Saraswati is regarded as a watchman divinity in Buddhism who maintains the teachings of Gautama Buddha by offering security and support to specialists.
Other known forms of Saraswati are "Maha Saraswati" which is worshiped in the fifth chapter of Devi Mahatmya or Durga Saptashati (Durga Upasana). Mahavidya Nila Saraswati is another form of Mahavidya Tara.
In the eastern states of India—Tripura, Orissa, West Bengal, Bihār and Assam,—Saraswati Puja is praised in the Magha month (January–february). It matches with Vasant Panchami or Shree Panchami, i.e., the fifth day of the brilliant fortnight of the lunar month of Magha and is celebrated in major parts of East, West and Central India. She, who is as fair as the Kunda flower, white as the moon, and a garland of Tushar flowers;and who is covered in white clothes
She, whose hands are adorned by the excellent veena, and whose seat is the pure white lotus;
She, who is praised by Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh; and prayed to by the Devas
O Mother Goddess, remove my mental inertia!
